About Prairie Sky Counseling Center

Prairie Sky Counseling Center is a nonprofit mental health organization in Kansas City dedicated to providing holistic, culturally competent, trauma-informed counseling for individuals ages 13 and older. Our team of licensed clinicians brings expertise across diverse specialties, offering care that meets people where they are and honors the whole person—mind, body, and spirit.

Since opening our doors in 2023, Prairie Sky has walked alongside clients through life’s hardest seasons, providing 700 hours of therapy in our first year alone. With nearly two-thirds of our clients relying on a sliding-scale fee structure, donor support makes it possible for us to remove barriers and ensure that compassionate, professional counseling remains accessible to all who seek it.

Our vision is simple yet profound: to be a place of healing and resilience where every person feels seen, valued, and supported. Guided by the belief that connection changes lives, we are committed to building a healthier, more hopeful community—one session, one story, and one life at a time.
